April welcomes the beautiful spring season to Oregon with its mild weather that spreads a blanket of greenery over the landscape. The region east of the Cascades receives scanty rainfall, while it is wet on the western side and the coast. The snow thaws by mid-April in the lower areas and is absent on the Columbia plateau. Burns, in southeastern Oregon, registers 15 sunny days in April.
