Weather in June

June is warm, humid, and wet as the sun gains strength with the beginning of the Wisconsin summer. The sunshine breaks the cloud cover for at least 18 days during the month. June is one of the rainiest months of the year with an average of 4" (102mm) to 5" (127mm) of rain. Thunderstorms are frequent, and hail and lightning often accompany them. Tornadoes also sweep the state in summer, and their average of 19 per year signifies regular trouble from them.
The average temperatures are mostly in the range of 70°F (21.1°C) to 80°F (26.7°C) during the day, while the nights are comfortable between the 50°F (10°C) to 60°F (15.6°C) range. June can touch up to 90°F (32.2°C) in the south in the absence of rain but usually tends to stretch until 85°F (29.4°C) at some places.
The weather is perfect for biking, fishing, and swimming in the vast number of lakes and creeks as also for enjoying a large number of public and state parks. Be sure to pack raincoats, boots, and umbrellas to enjoy the summer!
