Port St. Lucie is a moderately small city found in the county of St. Lucie, within the state of
Florida, in the United States. Port St. Lucie is the most populated municipal region in its county, and its metropolitan area is inclusive of St. Lucie and Martin counties.
Port St. Lucie is located conveniently in proximity to Miami and Orlando, something that has made it a soft spot for tourists from across the globe.
Port St. Lucie prides in numerous outdoor activities, because of its scenic surroundings and natural gardens. The famous Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens are top of the tourist attractions, featuring all kinds of exotic and native plants like orchids and bamboo. Beautiful sights of all sorts of butterflies and hummingbirds are equally inviting to these natural gardens. Unique water animals like alligators, manatees, egrets, and river otters, as well as other animals unique to Port St. Lucie, are also another huge tourist attraction in the city.
The coastline is made up of water trails across the marshes of the Savannas Preserve State Park. Summer, between
May and
October, has the mercury stretching to highs of 91.4°F (33°C) and lows of 71.6°F (22°C). Extremely scorching days are possible, as the humidity remains high throughout. Most of the year's rainfall is received in summer, totaling to 35.9" (911.9mm) on average.
Winter experiences cold days, which have a temperature ranging between 53.8°F (12.1°C) and 75.7°F (24.3°C). The days are moderately drier, as even the wettest month usually registers 2.3" (58.4mm) in precipitation.
Port St. Lucie is a lovely place to visit at any time during the year. The temperature is warm to hot across the year, and the weather is devoid of extremely chilly days. The travel season may, however, peak in summer, between
June and
August, and from
November through
December. Both these periods feature excellent weather for outdoor activities, and most of the festivals and events celebrated in Port St. Lucie occur around the same time.
The
July 4th is Independence Day, and Port St. Lucie celebrates the famous Freedom Festival featuring numerous games and firework displays. The Oktoberfest is another of the many events in Port St. Lucie, held in October to offer bratwurst-eating contests and parties crowned with local beer and feasts. During spring, between

March, specifically, Port St. Lucie visitors get to watch the baseball team play at First Data Field.
