Fort Worth has a humid subtropical type of climate (Köppen climate classification Cfa) with long, hot and humid summers and short, mild winters. Fort Worth lies in the Tarrant County in North Texas on the west fork of the Trinity River. The climate also has a slightly continental influence due to the region's inland location from the Gulf Coast.
