By mid-April, spring starts to spread its wings across the beautiful and rough landscape as the lakes and rivers are full of freshwater from the rain and melting snow - no wonder fishing activities take a front seat during this time! Maine starts to register tourist numbers by late-April as spring conditions make for a lovely atmosphere. By the end of April, a majority of ski lovers return as the snow melts down on the lower mountain slopes with the advance of spring.
